About the coach
If you want to know exactly how a judging panel views your program, Katerina is the person to ask. As a National Technical Panelist and Judge who evaluates all disciplines—singles, pairs, ice dance, and synchronized skating—she provides a complete, professional audit of a skater's competitive routine. She knows exactly where athletes accidentally lose points and how to adjust elements to guarantee maximum levels and avoid deductions. But what makes Katerina truly unique is how she balances this strict technical approach with mental support. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, which means she doesn't just tell skaters what to do; she actually helps them build the mental toughness required to land difficult elements when the competition pressure is on. On top of her technical and psychological expertise, Katerina brings a strong artistic influence to the ice. Thanks to her background as a professional dancer and teacher, she is excellent at refining a skater's presentation, edge work, and overall skating skills, which is crucial for boosting those component scores. Coaching since 2013, Katerina works fluently in English (and understands basic Russian). She has a real talent for taking the very complex, confusing rules of the ISU judging system and explaining them in a way that is easy for both athletes and parents to understand and apply.
